How the treasure hunt works
You open the walk right in your browser — no app to download, no account. The route guides you from place to place, and at every stop you read the story and solve a puzzle. The answer is right there, in the surroundings themselves. That's how you start to look more closely: at a sandstone façade, a fountain full of symbolism, or a view that stops you in your tracks.
What you'll discover along the way
The hunt counts nine stops, among them the Sydney Tower Eye, whose panorama reaches the Blue Mountains on a clear day, the Archibald Memorial Fountain in Hyde Park and the Georgian Hyde Park Barracks, which speak of Sydney's past as a penal colony. The Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Royal Botanic Garden, the Museum of Sydney, Customs House, the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia and BridgeClimb Sydney all join in. Practical details
The route is about 3.6 kilometres and takes roughly 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace and how long you linger at each stop. You start at the Sydney Tower Eye and continue at your own rhythm.
